2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross
Last year saw the revival of a legendary Mitsubishi nameplate, the Eclipse, which was updated for active 21st century lifestyles. The new vehicle combined the best of a sports coupe and a crossover SUV, so its name was updated too: the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. This is the Mitsubishi Eclipse Edmonton drivers need for active lifestyles, a car that’s capable of handling all weather conditions including the toughest Canadian winters. We’re excited to offer it for sale at West Side Mitsubishi, and we invite you to come to our dealership today for a test drive.
You’ll discover that the Eclipse Cross combines the utility and driving position of an SUV with the excitement of a sports coupe. Mitsubishi describes its exterior style as “dynamic shield design.” Sharp creases and edgy character lines run from its razor-like grille to its LED rear taillights, which nestle beneath a steeply raked rear hatch. The overall impression is of the dynamic style of a sports car blended with a four-door coupe.
The Eclipse Cross supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto 2 via its standard 7-inch Smartphone Link Display Audio feature. You can stream your music and use your voice to activate Siri or talk to Google to access maps and more. SiriusXM Satellite Radio comes standard, complete with three months of complimentary service. A four-speaker stereo system is standard in base trim levels, with two additional speakers in higher trim levels and a nine-speaker Rockford Fosgate Punch system pumping out 710 watts in the top-of-the-line Eclipse Cross GT S-AWC.
The 2019 Eclipse Cross’s cockpit-like interior matches its stunning exterior looks. A commanding SUV-level view of the road greets you when you climb into the driver’s seat. You’ll find yourself surrounded by precision-crafted materials and silver-accented trim pieces. Heated front seats come standard on all trim levels. Optional luxury features include leather seats, a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, and a leather-trimmed shift knob. Rear seats recline for passenger comfort, or fold down to provide 1,385 L of cargo space. An optional power panoramic sunroof lets in fresh air and sunshine.
The Eclipse Cross offers a standard seven-airbag system to protect the driver and passenger from impacts. Mitsubishi’s body structure, called Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE), provides additional protection in an accident. Available features like a head-up display and the 360-degree Multi View Camera System offer additional safety by enabling a total awareness of the driver’s surroundings. An optional Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) feature helps to avoid or mitigate crashes. Other available safety tools include Blind Spot Warning, Lane Change Assist, Lane Departure Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
A multi-information display is standard on all trim levels. From the SE trim level on up, the Eclipse Cross offers keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, and many other high-tech feature upgrades.
The Eclipse Cross’s turbocharged 1.5L direct-injection four-cylinder pumps out 152 hp and a very healthy 184 lb-ft of torque. This means its off-the-line performance matches its sporty looks. Mitsubishi’s Super All-Wheel Control, a standard feature on every Eclipse Cross, channels this power to all four wheels. Its Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) uses an eight-step sport mode to balance performance and fuel efficiency.
