Hatchback or sedan? That’s what it comes down to when comparing the Mitsubishi Mirage and the Mirage G4. Everything trickles down from their different car designations, providing differences in both exterior design and interior space. The Mitsubishi Mirage is a hatchback in a small size, with peppy power and surprisingly roomy interior space. The Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is the sedan option of the same vehicle, providing a more traditional design larger in exterior design, but not necessarily so inside. The design and dimension specifications are where you see the stark differences between the Mirage and Mirage G4. Comparing a hatchback to a sedan doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a smaller vehicle—maybe on the outside, but it doesn’t always have to be on the inside. The Mirage G4 sedan is clearly the much longer vehicle, but maintains a similar width and height. When parking the G4 compared to the hatchback Mirage, the length is where you’re really going to have to take notice. The G4 provides more passenger volume, but the regular Mirage gives up a ton more cargo space for your gear, which is something to keep in mind if you haul a lot. Passenger space is pretty similar, but with the Mirage G4 sedan design, the rear passengers will enjoy more legroom. Similar and contrasting design and dimensions satiate those who may want a bigger vehicle build, or who want more space inside, for passengers or cargo.

The chart above bears out what’s obvious on eyesight, which is that the prime differences between the Mirage and Mirage G4 are due to the hatchback vs. sedan design, not the performance. Both vehicles have the same engine pumping out the same horsepower and torque, with the same transmission. The only thing different is the fuel efficiency measures, which itself is only a hair of a difference. Either way, the separation coming from the build designs of the Mitsubishi vehicles, you still get exceptional fuel consumption rates on both the hatchback and sedan.
