Motor Oil Myths

There are many motor oil myths that cause car owners not to get the most out of their vehicle. In fact, it could end up costing them far more in the long run. Because we want you to be a knowledgeable consumer, we here at West Side Mitsubishi are debunking some of the most common motor oil myths.

First and foremost, the idea that your oil needs to be changed every 3,000 is almost never true. The true mileage between oil changes can be found in your owner’s manual and is often as high as 7,500 miles between changes. The second myth is that you don't have to change your oil filter every time you change your oil. This is not only false but could be potentially harmful to your vehicle if not done each time.

If you have any other myths you'd like us to address or need servicing, feel free to stop on by our dealership in Edmonton today!
