This is our History
Mitsubishi motors can be traced to 1917 when our first mass-produced car, the Mitsubishi model-A, rolled off the production line. But that's not when Mitsubishi began operations. The company has a long and diverse history.

1914: The Mitsubishi Triple Diamond trademark is registered.

1917: The Mitsubishi Model-A takes its place in Japanese history as a pioneer of the first mass-production passenger car.

1936: PX33 is introduced as Japan's first 4-wheel drive production car. This was the origin of Mitsubishi 4WD technology.

1970: Galant GTO - first 4G Series engines, the precursor to the Lancer Evolution engine.

1980: Mitsubishi is the first engineer a turbocharged diesel engine for passenger cars in Japan.

1992: The company introduces next-generation engine with Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing and lift Electronic Control (MIVEC), allowing maximum engine performance while maintaining fuel efficiency.

2004: 10-Year Warranty launch in Canada.

2011: In December, the remarkable all-electric i-MiEV begins to roll out in Canada, leading the way in EV technology.
These are our Achivements
Mitsubishi Motor's is a leading innovator of the traction control system, as well as breakthrough silent shaft engine technology. We proudly have accomplished more consecutive wins at the Paris-Dakar Rally than any other manufacturer and have ranked highly in various other world competitions.

1962: Mitsubishi Motor's inaugural international motorsports event, the Macau Grand Prix (under 750cc class). Mitsubishi 500 sets a new course record and wins its class.

1964: The colt 1000 wins a Class Title in the 2nd Japan Grand Prix Auto Race.

1974: Looking for the ultimate test of durability. Mitsubishi enters the Lancer 1600GSR in the East African Safari Rally and dominates the competition with a first-second-third-place sweep.

1992: Japan Car Research and Journalist Conference names Mitsubishi Motor's Intelligent & Innovative Electronic Control System (INVECS) Adaptive Shift Control Technology of the Year.

1998: Montero dominates the Dakar Rally as it sweeps the top four positions, Lancer Evolution's victory in the WRC and Montero's win in the FIA World Class Cup Cross-Country Rally.

2003: Mitsubishi introduces the Lancer Evolution in America and Automobile Magazine promptly honours it as 2003 Automobile of the Year.

2007: Mitsubishi Is the first to score seven straight Dakar Rally wins. mThis marks the 12th Championship win.arks the 12th Championship win.

2011: The Lancer is named a 'Top Safety Pick' by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) for 5 years in a row.

2012: Natural Resources Canada name i-MiEV Canada's most Fuel-Efficient Sub-Compact Car.
