Recall is a scary word. It’s a word laced with fearful connotations and negativity. But is all this worry justified?
Fear not, as thankfully, a majority of recalls are all covered under the vehicle warranty directly from the manufacturer. So when something is being recalled, you can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that at least the financial aspect of fixing the issue is covered.
What is a recall?
A recall is the manufacturer’s commitment to ensuring your safety by fixing possible on going issues with a particular make of car, issues that may or may not be detrimental to your vehicle.
What to do about it?
A dealership will often get a jump on the situation and send you a letter or email advising you that your make and model has a specific issue that needs to be dealt with. This is why it is imperative that you keep your personal information up to date. Because having up to date personal information know by the dealership is the only way to guarantee that you receive these notifications if they do happen to come up. But often times, when the particular issue is not an immediate concern, no notification will be sent out.
In the instance that you don’t get a memo, it is still important to note that your vehicle may still have a recall. You can do this by checking on the official website. Do not be afraid to check constantly as these issues are reporter with the intention of having the manufacturer fix whatever the problem is.
